I will assume you mean the southeast, since in the Southwest I can get any of that shit that you were mentioning about not finding in Atlanta.
Cajun food, Tex Mex, and even Baha beats any of the weak ass culinary approximations of said cuisines in Yankeeville (outside of NYC which wins by default by being one of the few civilized places in our country - and even there its fucking difficult to find serviceable Mexican.).
I eat out 3x a week at least and have been to nice places on 6 continents, I'll still put Houston's restaraunt scene up there with almost anywhere.
