The problem is that Netflix doesn't have the money or clout to make the studios play ball. Amazon or Apple or Microsoft certainly do. And any of those could buy Netflix without breaking a sweat (especially now the market cap has plummeted to $4 billion).
However...they could also just make those deals themselves, without Netflix. What they would get from netflix is a large subscriber base and the installed hardware base.
We'll see - at this rate they may just wait to pick them up in bankruptcy court.
