Yeah, Hulu Plus seems dumb. The main thing it seems to have over Hulu is older episodes. But if the episodes are old enough, Netflix will have them (possibly streaming) from the previous season DVDs.
Like with Once Upon a Time, Netflix was streaming season 1 and regular Hulu had season 2 starting with episode 4 or so. Hulu Plus had the missing 3 episodes but I just bought them from Amazon instead.

This isn't going to harm Netflix any more than it harmed video rentals since the invention of the VCR. Video rental/streaming services survive precisely because most of what's out there is crap, worth watching once, if that. Netflix has all sorts of kids shows and movies from the "B" list that you might want to watch, but that you probably don't want to pay a bunch of money to iTunes to own.
