I agree the next two will be better, though. It's hard to introduce 13 new main characters (plus some old ones) all at the same time.
I didn't mind any of the additions, and I even rather liked Sylvester McCoy's Radaghast, which I didn't expect after the bad early buzz about him.
All the bridge surfing and falling through countless hard rocky pits without anyone getting hurt kind of annoyed me, though.
