Fear the Walking Dead

In the Walking Dead world however, most people that can't get over the shock get Darwined out of the living people pool.

This is the biggest problem I have with the Walking Dead in general (to a much lesser extent in the original show although there are still characters there who seem to, after all this time, still fail to accept the fundamental change in how you must interact with the world) and certainly with this new series. In something like a zombie apocalypse people who are unable to adjust quickly to what is going on are going to be dead. You simply cannot stick your head in the sand and survive in a zombie apocalypse. You adapt quickly or you die.

I suppose it depends where you were, you could be in the shitty town I lived in alaska with 500 people who owend probably 3000 guns between them and no significant population center near you and it would probably take a while for reality to stumble towards you. Or rural <insert flyover village here>.

In big cities, yeah - shit would get real quick.. Lots of people=lots of zombies, and cities require incoming resources to function, so even without zombies shit gets bad.
