Arizona has serious healthcare issues because illegal immigrants get free health care based on the law that doctors can't turn away patients who can't pay for it. I see illegal workers everyday in a million different facets of my daily life here in Phoenix. The main issue with immigration is that we let it become such a huge issue that now there is no good solution. This speaks to another short coming of human civilization and that is our incredible inability to prevent problems. There is something about our psychology that responds much better to acute problems than the probability of them.

Illegal immigrants are now the base of our economic structure here in Arizona and to arrest them all and deport them would crush us. While they did commit a societal crime by living here illegally, it would be the lesser of two evils to give them citizenship and have them start carrying their weight as part of our society. We screwed up by ignoring the problem just as much as they did by taking advantage of the opportunity to better their lives. Now everyone has to pay for it.
