TiVo. Expensive, but well worth it. I watch more TV now than I have in the past 10 years simply because I can easily record whatever I want and watch it whenever I feel like it. There's some good shows on that I otherwise would simply never bother with. And I can fast forward through all the commercials (which I understand is starting to worry the networks).
You could do the same thing with a VHS recorder, but TiVo is about a billion times less hassle. Seriously. A billion times. Well documented.
Last year. Watched: nothing.
This year. Watching: Battlestar Galactica, Cowbow Bebop, Lost, Futurama, Mail Call, Mythbusters, Justice League: Unlimited, Stargate Atlantis.
Sooo much easier now that I don't have to spend any time scheduling what I want to record or messing with tapes. Takes about 15 seconds to tell the TiVo to start recording every episode of a show I think might be interesting.
It's great.
Finding time to catch up on everything is sometimes the hard part.
