I've been reading the reviews on http://www.rottentomatoes.com and I can't wait to see this movie.
What bothers me is that people are being really blind to some realities of these movies.
Matrix: original was just that... original. It was a completely new and revolutionary take on how movies are done and experienced. The only thing that had come out that came anywhere near the same experience was Blade 1 which was released a few months prior.
Now, fast forward.
Movies upon Movies have come out that have ripped some of the ideas off of the matrix. That style is old news... the phrase "that was so 5 years ago" comes to mind.
People are trying to compare these new Matrix movies to the way they felt when the first one came out... well, you can't... it's a feeling that you can't compare to or get back until something totally original comes out again.
It's like when you first played EQ (or your first MMORPG if you didn't start w/ EQ). You were wowed by the magnitude of the game, the involvement, the interaction, the size, the feel, the intrigue. Do you get the same feel from any of these new games? NO because they're not "new". They may have new ideas but they're not revolutionary and no game will be revolutionary in that regard until they perfect a Virtual Reality MMORPG.
Matrix was revolutionary to movie making and people need to see these new movies compared to other movies now-a-days and not to the original, because they'll never get that back.
Blade and Scream:original were also revolutionary to the film industry.
