my co-worker who is also a big Mt. Dew connoisseur, said the sugar Mt. Dew was smoother with less bite.
But thats kinda what I like about Mt. Dew

Went by the grocery store. Didn't see any new Pepsi or Mt. Dews on the shelf but I did see a bunch of Cokes with the yellow caps. Sure 'nuff, ingredients says "sucrose" rather than "high fructose corn syrup".

I picked up 6 12-packs of Mountain Dew Throwback yesterday, and 2 12-packs of Pepsi Throwback. also 1 2-liter bottle of Coke with the yellow cap.
I've only tried the Mountain Dew so far. it seems sweeter, and also a bit smoother, with less aftertaste. -ken

There's been controversy for some time over health effects of high fructose corn syrup, particularly whether it has an impact on obesity beyond that of table sugar.
Wikipedia has a brick of text about it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High-fructo...th_effects I just think sugar tastes better. I should arrange a blind taste test with the Pepsi stuff, since I haven't drank any Pepsi (new or old) in a long time.

I have one of the Mountain Dews open right now. The taste is noticeably different, and I vaguely remember tasting it before.
It tastes like...NOSTALGIA! mmmmmmm!

Just picked up a Yellow Cap Coke(aka Kosher Koke with Sugar Not HFCS) and it does taste much better.

hmm didnt know that about the yellow caps...neat! I live in a very Jewish area so I'll have to check the Shoprite. I was also enthused about Throwback stuff, gonna pick some up. So much better than corn syrup. Candy bars too, ever notice how fucking awesome a Kit-Kat in Europe tastes compared to ours?

My friend is visiting from Tokyo. He brought me a whole selection of Kit Kats from Japan. They have strawberry, white chocolate vanilla, and even freakin potato flavored Kit Kats, all with real sugar.
