5 people to save the world.

Slamz Wrote:Q - would not save the earth (does not care). I don't think you can bring other members of the Q Continuum unless you know of a particular one that would be inclined to help and was on TV. (Didn't the other members of Q eventually show up to punish the one that had been tormenting Picard? I don't recall them really being people who cared, though.)

There was a female Q that was born and raised in Kansas. She loved humanity so much she was once willing to forgo using her powers to remain on earth. Q eventually convinced Q (female) to come to the continuum. I would classify her as someone that "cared."

I'm not so sure, Peter Petrelli has telepathic powers, and the ability to absorb and use any power he comes in contact with.

From the wiki he doesnt seem like much help. His telepathic powers might protect him to a degree and help him influence others who have been taken control (ya know how they always say like....hey man I know your in there, break this dude!) of ...but silver surfer could easily blow the planet up before this guy could do shit or even knew what was happening

One of his abilities allows him to stop or go back and forth in time, which means he has more time than anyone. And what is Silver Surfer doing blowing up the earth when he is on my team to save it? Bad Silver Surfer.

I found this bit of information about Silver Surfer.

Granted to him by Galactus, the Power Cosmic is the Silver Surfer's lifeline. It enables him to channel ambient cosmic energy into his body at will and expel it violently through a beam of energy as a concussive force, with sufficient power to destroy a planet. He can also generate subtle amounts more gently, as a means to restructure molecules and transmute elements according to his mental design, such as altering the natural pigments of a plant to change its colour.

The Surfer was also given super-strength when he took on the Power Cosmic, becoming able to lift in excess of 100 tons. He can increase this to amazing degrees, enabling him to move almost limitless amounts of mass, including comets, planets and even stars. In addition, his body can move and react at superhuman velocities, putting Superman and the Flash to shame. The physical properties binding together his 'skin' are such that there are few known forces in the Universe strong enough to overcome them. Thus the Surfer is invulnerable to most forms of physical harm and is able to withstand extremes of temperature caused by the build-up of friction or the vacuum of deep space, or even the intense heat of nearby stars.

The Silver Surfer is also intrinsically aware of energies around him and this ability ensures that he has no need to eat or breathe, since he absorbs life-maintaining cosmic energy directly through his skin. Although his body does not require sleep, his mind still does in order to give him the opportunity to dream. The Surfer's mind has also been restructured so that he has resistance to telepathy and other forms of mind-control. The Silver Surfer can also heal and revitalise himself - although his extraordinary abilities do not extend to creating or restoring life, they did once enable him to travel through time.

I pick "I dream of Jeanie". She's only supposed to give you three wishes but I saw her give at least that many in every episode. She can clearly wish for whatever the eff she wants so without completely bastardizing the notion behind the thread I could probably have her wish up any other 4 characters to suit the needs of whatever threat might manifest itself if she can't wish the threat out of existence by herself outright.

The only flaws here are having to deal with her mother while you keep her on staff and bad timing, because if she's pouting or PMSing when the invaders strike we're all gonna die or become zombified.

Oh and she's hot and barely wears any clothing (at least in my 2009 remake of the series). So not only does she grant you any wishies you might wish for but looks damn fine while good while doing so.

That might actually work. She always seemed like kind of a ditz, so you'd just have to keep her somewhere and not tell her what all the stuff is really for.

"The factory workers are all exhausted and we still need 1000 tanks. I wish for 1000 tanks!"

"The Russians have agreed to get rid of all of their nasty nukes. Hooray! In order to disarm safely, I wish all of the Russian nuclear warheads would be teleported to our hangar so that we can count them before disposing of them."

I still say Dr. Manhattan wouldn't help, though. In the comics he just went all Adama on us and teleported to Mars to live in seclusion.

It's more like you're saying, "I call up the Replicators! And Q!" And then in the 0.2 seconds of life you have left before they kill you, you can ponder your mistake. :-p

Granted I would probably want to be standing behind some sort of barrier when I called up Conan, too.

He had just been manipulated into thinking he gave everyone he loved cancer as the culmination of a decade long plot to neutralize him, I doubt our invaders had the prescience to create tachyons to stop him. Anyway I'll just pick the version of him when he was the republican's bitch who single handedly won vietnam and not years later when he was totally disconnected from humanity.

But if that doesn't convince you, fine, Goku from Dragonball Z - he could blow up the moon as a 6 year old and even though the after effects of his solution kill us all they always manage to wish everyone back to life.

Hopefully Rand after he cleansed the taint... (Hmm that probably sounds odd to people who haven't read the books)

Your last two are bad choices too, Jesus is a pacifist and history has proven that God doesn't lift a finger to help us against physical threats. In fact if you pick Old Testamant God he gets his rocks off by torturing his creations.

Along the lines of my Q argument, I think God would be more interested in saving your soul then stopping bad things from happening on earth.

Again, though, if God's allowed in the game, I want him on my team too.
"Hamilton is really a Colossus to the anti republican party. Without numbers he is an host within himself. They have got themselves into a defile where they might be finished but too much security on the republican part will give time to his talents and indefatigableness to extricate them. We have had only middling performances to oppose to him. In truth when he comes forward there is nobody but yourself who can meet him. His adversaries having begun the attack he has the advantage of answering them and remains unanswered himself. Ok well now we're getting into specifics.

What type of god or which characterization of god are we talking about?

Also when you say 'Save the world' do you mean 'Save Mankind' or do you mean 'Save the planet'? One could make the argument that destroying mankind might be the best way to save the planet in which case I choose,

Darth Vader and equip him with this http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=19854

If we're going with Darths go Darth Revan, my lvl 20 Revan did all kinds of shit Vader couldn't - multiple target force lightning, draining life with force, etc, plus she had 2 light sabers.

1) Spock - If anything, you'll know what your odds are in any given situation.

2) Survivorman - You might have to eat bugs

3) Mike Tyson in his prime - Tough call between him and Muhammad Ali, but if you need somebody decked, it might have to happen in less that 3 minutes.

4) Han Solo - You'll probably need some stuff to save the world.

5) MacGyver - Imagine what he could do with the stuff Han Solo smuggles in.
Moristans: err

What the f*** Skelas - I know this is NSFW, but I coudn't watch this at work...

I think it's best to steer clear of books since that adds like a billion characters and none of us know most of them.

God and Jesus have been in enough TV shows, though, so they can count.

Although, as Dustie says, having God on your team may not be a lot better than just saying, "God is on my side!" Many a crusader and infidel said precisely that just before getting stabbed with a spear, shot, blown up or all three. And Jesus might just turn the other cheek. It was never really clear what Jesus would do in the event of an attack by aliens.

Although he still might be useful. If it was a problem with global starvation or plague (perhaps including zombie plagues), Jesus could certainly help out.

The nature of the threat was non-specific. One of my Facebook friends put Alan Greenspan on her team in case mankind was threatened by an economic crisis.

Well I put god on my side in case there were shenanigans like changing of reality or time travel.

First you'd have to sneak up on them.. good luck, spidey sense..

Then you'd have to catch them... good luck, teleportation.

Brains, Defense, Mobility, Healing, & Strength.

I probably could have picked a better Brains and Healer though... Einstien's limited (but has a +10 Cool factor for being the only 'pure' human), and Silver Surfer is more of a Hybrid healer/dps!
